Julianaa Satie
Julianaa Satie, formerly Joanne Saltzman, is the founder, director and creative force behind the International Academy of Natural Cookery. Julianaa is also the author of 3 cookbooks, Amazing Grains, Romancing the Bean and Intuitive cooking. Julianaa spent her first part of her life as a professional dancer and choreographer. Her strong sense of creativity allowed her to ‘choreograph’ the vision for the school and to develop the language of cooking; a limitless, soulful way for chefs to cook and communicate.
The Language of Cooking has been the foundation of the International Academy of Natural Cookery (aka School of Natural Cookery) and provided a pathway for students for over 27 years to become successful chefs both and home and professionally.
Julianaa experienced, as a mother of four strong children, that food not only has to be nourishing and delicious, but cost effective. From this, the essence of the School was born. Her passion is the process of transformation, of food through cooking, of people through experience and of ideas through collaboration. This passion can be seen in the school’s ever evolving, rich curriculum.
Kelly Worrell
Kelly Worrell is The International Academy’s Administrative Director as well as a passionate Main Course Teacher and personal chef. Kelly is the proud father of 4 beautiful children including the recent addition of twin boys. Kelly has over 20 years background working in the corporate I.T. (internet technology) industry. After experiencing The Main Course program, he made the courageous move to change his life and follow his passion to become a personal chef. Aside from being an incredible father personal chef, and teacher, Kelly is beautiful vocalist and sings in the Arvada Chorale.
Maihaa Keeley
Maihaa has been on the faculty of the Internatinal Acadamy for over 15 years. Maia is the mother of a beautiful 6 year old boy who has grown incredibly strong through Maihaa’s nourishing cooking style. Maihaa teaches the Professional Course as well as The Main Course. Her long time personal chef business provides her with an incredible amount of ‘in the world’ experience to share with her students. Maihaa is the backbone of the Professional course and brings a grounding energy and deep passion to the kitchen.
Aside from teaching, Maihaa loves to spend time with Braydon, her son, practice Martial Arts…and cook.
Lauren Gennett
Lauren Gennett is the director the the Natural Cook Studio Arts Co., She is faculty of the International Academy of Natural Cookery’s professional personal chef training. After graduating from college at the University of Colorado _________studies, she attended the International Academy of Natural Cookery and never looked back. As a vegan for over 18 years, Lauren loves bringing delicious, healthful vegan cuisine into the world. Following 5 years as a personal chef in Asheville NC, Lauren returned to the school for teacher training. Lauren’s favorite part about being a teacher is watching the transformation of student’s confidence as they discover that they can create dishes, without following recipes. Aside from cooking, teaching cooking and eating, Lauren’s passions are yoga, dance and spending time with her pups.
